Hi, Keith Bedard here at Sherwood Park Dodge FIAT and today we’re going to introduce to you something that hasn’t been around in the market for many many years. As a matter of fact, they’re celebrating their 50th Anniversary and that is the new 2017 124 FIAT Spider, and for those of you that know much about FIAT, FIAT was here I think the last ones that were sold in the Edmonton area were probably in the 1980’s. They’ve gone away since then and have been reborn with kind of a strange marriage between, believe it or not, Mazda and FIAT.
These cars are produced in Japan, and they’re based on the popular MX-5 or as you like to say Mazda Miata platform. Which is great because then you’re not doing a brand-new vehicle that hasn’t been tried and tested or any of that kind of stuff for any weird flaws, basically it’s an MX-5, and if you look here, it’s got different bumpers, different fascia; but just a fun car.
This car has been one of those cars kind of like Harley-Davidson if you owned one, you always want to have one. Let’s take just a close look follow me in here. We’re just going to have a real close look at the interior. Now this model is called a Lusso; which in Italian means luxury.
This one has a pearl paint, the luxury tan or Camel interior. It has a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation in it. This particular model is a standard. Now you can either get them with a six-speed standard or a six-speed automatic transmission. As you can see, the overall look of the car keeps the heritage of the old 124 but with quite a modern edge.
Let’s face it when you get a new car sometimes people are a little bit hesitant about some new model like we said at the beginning of the video. The MX-5 or the Mazda MIATA has been around for years and it’s very popular.
This car in configuration uses a 1.4 Turbo motor. It’s 164 Horsepower and 184 ft. lbs. of torque. So just a brief overview of the new 2017 FIAT 124 Spider give me a call here, Keith Bedard and we’ll schedule a test drive before the snow comes. My number is 780-953-7906. Have a great day.
